John 19:25-27 Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother... 26 When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her, “Woman, here is your son,” 27 and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.


#1 Love her verbally.


Ephesians 4:29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.


Mathew 12:36-37 But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. 37 For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.


#2 Love her physically.


1 Corinthians 16:14 Do everything in love.


Romans 12:10 Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.


1 Corinthians 10:24 No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.


#3 Love her patiently.


Ephesians 4:2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.


#4 Love her attentively.


Philippians 2:3-4 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.


#5 Love her gratefully.


1 Thessalonians 5:18 Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.


#6 Love her generously.


Proverbs 19:17 Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done.


#7 Love her honorably.


Exodus 20:12 Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.


Proverbs 31:28 Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.
